September has come and gone and the fall season is here! Montgomery County Master Gardeners are making final preparations for a great plant sale October 14, and you don't want to miss it. Make plans to come out early for the best selection from popular varieties you have come to expect from MCMGA. Fall is the perfect time for planting in our area. The weather begins to cool and over the winter, plants have a good chance to establish roots before spring arrives. If you need a shrub or tree, consider planting Sweet Almond Verbena or the White Vitex. Both have beautiful white blooms and will be a nice addition to your garden. They will also have native plants, including include Salvias, Red Turks Cap and native grasses. Plant a few of these varieties and you will enjoy both spring and fall blooms.
