Coming To Conroe

Fo more than  25 years Montgomery County Literary Arts Council (MCLAC) has been and continues to be a force for the display and development of the literary arts in Conroe. "Writers in Performance," MCLAC's signature event brings the most distinguished, accomplished, and dynamic writers to our community for the enjoyment and education of our citizens. Despite the dominance of visual, on-demand media, and the prevalence of the internet, reading is on the rise. The National Endowment of the Arts reports a definitive increase in the numbers of adults who read literature, which reverses decades of decline. Other industries capitalize on this upswing in reading by adapting books into plays, musicals, movies, and television shows. MCLAC recognizes that our organization is on the forefront of this popular trend because we introduce the community to unique and often ground-breaking works of art before they reach the stage or screen. MCLAC launches its 2018 season in February with Skip Hollandsworth.
